HAWICK MP Michael Moore has urged Borderers to engage in the debate about Scotland’s future “at home, in the workplace, in the classroom and elsewhere”, following publication of the Scottish Government’s white paper on independence.
Speaking to the Hawick News, Mr Moore said: “This debate has to involve more than the politicians and I hope locally we will see people engage in the issues at home, in the workplace, in the classroom and elsewhere.
“The white paper adds nearly 700 pages to the debate, alongside a similar number from the UK Government. There is now no shortage of information and arguments out there!”
The Lib Dem member also said that he firmly believed it was better for Borderers to stay in the United Kingdom, but that they must decide for themselves.
