THE Bill McLaren memorial in Wilton Lodge Park will be unveiled on Tuesday morning.
And Hawick Community Council, which is behind the £11,500 project, has advised that entry to the park via the route past the museum and war memorial will not be available between 10am and 12.30pm.
Barriers will be in place all around the area of the new memorial.
It has also been requested that those attending the unveiling ceremony leave their cars in the Common Haugh to prevent problems with parking in areas in and around Wilton Park Road, the Walled Gardens and Park View.
Community council chairperson Marion Short said: “We would like to thank, in advance, guests and members of the public for assisting and complying with these arrangements, thus ensuring safety for all and avoiding congestion where possible.”
The bust of the legendary commentator, who died three years ago, will be unveiled at 11am.
