A ROAD sign at the top of the Mansfield Road which has been deemed an obstruction to drivers, is going to be moved.
Local councillor Stuart Marshall (pictured) has welcomed the news that a sign – which blocks the view of drivers looking right towards traffic travelling down from Wilton Hill – is to be repositioned after raising the issue on numerous occasions.
He said: “At last we are now getting somewhere in relation to this sign at the top of Mansfield Road. By repositioning it, I am sure will give much more visibility to motorists approaching the roundabout.”
A spokesperson for Scottish Borders Council confirmed that the sign will be moved to the right, stating: “Arrangements are now being made to alter the position of the sign by sliding it across to allow more room to see past the sign and onto the Wilton Hill approach of the roundabout. If this does not fully resolve the problem, then further improvements will have to be made.”
