WORKERS at Lochcarron have spoken of their complete and utter shock at this week's announcement that the Princes Street factory is to close with the loss of 38 jobs.
Managing director David Ogilvie broke the news to staff on Tuesday morning that the company's knitwear production at the mill would be axed just two days before Christmas.
One worker, who asked not to be named, told the Hawick News: "It came as a total surprise. Not a soul had any idea it was going to happen."
