Walking stick accused denies threats

A man has denied brandishing a walking stick in the town.

Frederick Clewley, 47, of Tower Knowe, denies behaving in a threatening or abusive manner in Northcote Street on June 21 last year.

He also denies having an offensive weapon – a walking stick.

Clewley, who is due to stand trial at Jedburgh Sheriff Court on June 5, had a further intermediate diet set for May 30.
