Twelve-month ban for drink-driver

DRIVING a car when over twice the alcohol limit cost Stephen Anderson a £300 fine and he was banned from the roads for 12 months

At Jedburgh Sheriff Court, Anderson, 27, of Galalaw Road, admitted driving a car in Burnfoot Road on May 4 with a breath/alcohol reading of 97 mcgs – the legal limit being 35.

“He had been out with friends, had an argument with his partner, and in the heat of the moment opted to drive the short distance home,” explained defence solicitor Ross Dow.
