A man involved in a bust-up with his partner has been fined £250 at Selkirk Sheriff Court.

Lee Nichol, 27, was found guilty after a trial of struggling with Stacey Johnson at his home in Trinity Street on November 14.

The court was told that Nichol had tried to get her to leave the house but the couple were back together and expecting their third child.

At Jedburgh Sheriff Court last Friday, Johnson pleaded guilty to striking Nichol on the head with a screwdriver during the same incident and sentence was deferred until January 16 for good behaviour.
