Thorterdykes licence is suspended

THE licence at Thorterdkyes Roadhouse has been suspended.

The decision surrounding the Rosebank Road hostelry was taken recently in private by members of Scottish Borders Council’s licensing board.

It was revealed that the licensee, Allan Bate, had agreed to pay the annual premises licence (£280) in quarterly instalments.

Members heard that although he paid the first two instalments, in August last year and January this year, “no further payments have been made to date and £140 remains unpaid”.

And despite a Compliance Notice being issued to Mr Bate by the licensing standards officer in August, “no payment has been received”.
