Sentence deferred on Burnfoot man

A MAN who broke three panes of glass in a common stairway claimed to have little recollection of the offence, saying his memory was “foggy”.

Craig Jeffrey, 28, of McLagan Drive, admitted reckless damage at Mansfield Crescent on June 26.

Depute fiscal Kate McGarvey said some £80 worth of damage was caused to windows in the commons stairway.

“The accused was traced and identified as the person responsible,” she explained, “and said he thought he had used his foot, but wasn’t sure why he did it as things were foggy in his memory.

“He said he had not been drinking or taking drugs, but was feeling depressed,” she added.

“He said he just remembered being angry.”

Sentence was deferred until March 8 for reports.
