Road checks snare offending drivers

THREE road checks have been carried out in Denholm over the past month.

PC Brian Murray (pictured) revealed that one person was issued with a fixed penalty ticket for not wearing a seat belt; one issued with a conditional offer in relation to a faulty exhaust; and a man (not local) was arrested in relation to an outstanding warrant.

A report has also been submitted to the procurator fiscal regarding the male being found in possession of illegal substances.

Enquiries are ongoing regarding a car vandalised outside Elm Court.
