Resilience scheme plea to ensure project’s success

TOWNSFOLK are being urged to register their interest in Hawick’s new community resilience scheme.

Members of the community council have been delivering leaflets to households in the Mansfield and Weensland areas, and chairperson Marion Short is this week appealing to Teries to complete the forms as soon as possible.

“So far we’ve had a few replies from residents offering snow clearing and flood prevention, and we at Hawick Community Council along with officials at Scottish Borders Council appreciate that folks in Hawick already carry out a lot of these tasks, but in order for the project to be successful we need to be able to contact volunteers in an emergency, and therefore it is important that people are registered.
