Renewables company to hold drop-ins

‘MEET the Supplier’ events for local businesses are to be held by SSE Renewables ahead of construction beginning on the controversial Langhope Rig wind farm near Roberton.

Construction on the ten turbine wind farm is expected to begin in spring next year.

The drop-in events nex tweek will provide further information on opportunities for local businesses during the construction phase and will allow local suppliers to directly share their details with the Langhope Rig project team.

Kirstanne McDowall, community liaison manager for Langhope Rig told the Hawick News: “There is a wide variety of skills on offer by businesses in the Borders region and we hope that we can use these skills to benefit our project and boost the local economy.”

The events will be held next Thursday in the Ettrick Room at Ettrick Riverside Business Centre, Selkirk at 10am to 2pm and again at 4pm to 8pm.
