‘Precautions in place’ as bug hits school

AROUND 20 per cent of pupils at Denholm Primary School have been struck down with a virus.

Scottish Borders Council has confirmed that 18 children out of the school roll of 93 are currently affected by a bug - with additional cleaning taking place in the building as a result.

An SBC spokesman told the Hawick News yesterday: “Precautions are in place and parents are being advised to keep children home until symptoms completely resolve, to seek advice from NHS 24 where necessary, and to observe good hand hygiene.”
