POLICE are appealing for information following the theft of a 32” Panasonic Viera television, valued at £300, from a house in Park Street. Anyone who can help with enquiries into the incident, which took place between 8.30pm on Thursday and 7.30am on Friday, should contact the station on 375051.

A 39-YEAR-OLD man was arrested for being drunk and disorderly and in breach of his ASBO after police were called to Weensland Road on Friday at around 12.40pm. He will appear from custody at Selkirk Sheriff Court today (Monday).

AT ABOUT 12.20pm on Friday, police observed a 49-year-old getting into a Subaru car in the Common Haugh, and subsequent enquiries revealed that the man had had his driving licence revoked for medical reasons. The vehicle was seized and he was charged with driving without a licence and without insurance. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
