Police in plea over Allars Bank theft bid

POLICE are appealing for information after a youth tried to steal alcohol from a property in Allars Bank last night (Sunday) at around 7.30.

The suspect – who was challenged by the occupier and left empty-handed – is aged between 20-30, of slim build with short ginger hair, and was wearing a dark top.

A 21-YEAR-OLD male has been arrested and charged with two counts of assault following disturbances in the High Street and Crumhaugh Road areas.

He will appear from custody at Selkirk Sheriff Court today (Monday).
