ORGANISERS of this year’s Christmas Parade are urging Teries to get involved.

Hawick Community Council has started preparations for the event on Saturday, December 1 and are inviting as many people as possible to take part.

Application forms to register are available from Marion Short either by telephone: 373174, or email: over50s@tiscali.co.uk.

There will be awards for best float, funniest float, best walking group and best children’s group.

Judging of shop windows with festive decorative displays will also take place and shields awarded for best large window and best small window, with certificates for highly commended large and small window.
