Overgrown area cleared at Oliver Park

HAWICK and Hermitage councillor George Turnbull has hailed the town’s parks department for clearing an unsightly area of his ward.

Councillor Turnbull had taken several complaints about the overgrown land behind Oliver Park next to the riverside path.

And he is delighted it has now been tidied up.

He said: “The transformation is quite dramatic. Scottish Borders Housing Association (SBHA), who own the land, passed the work on to the council’s parks department and they’ve done a great job. It’s made a massive difference.”
