Motorist charged with drink-driving

A 20-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with drink-driving in the early hours of Sunday.

Police stopped a Vauxhall Corsa car on the A698 near Denholm at around 3.30am, and the driver, who comes from Jedburgh, provided a positive roadside breath test.

He was arrested and taken to the police station where he was tested again and found to be over the legal limit.

The motorist, who is also facing a dangerous driving charge, will be reported to the procurator fiscal.
