Mast applictions approved

SCOTTISH Borders Council has approved six applications for meteorological/anemometer masts this year.

The masts are seen as a precursor for future wind farm proposals.

Figures released this week show that there have been seven applications so far in 2012, six approved and one refused.

There have been 99 applications submitted to the local authority since 2005, 96 approved, two refused and one withdrawn.
