Local holidays for next year

THE list of local holidays in 2013 was confirmed by the Teviot and Liddesdale area committee at a recent meeting.

The New Year break falls on Tuesday-Wednesday, January 1-2, with a spring holiday next, on Monday, April 1. The May Day holiday falls on Monday, May 6. Local people will have Friday-Saturday, June 7-8 to make the most of the Common-Riding celebrations. Annual Trades Holidays are scheduled for Monday-Tuesday, July 22-23, before an Autumn Monday holiday on October 7.

Christmas and Boxing Day, 2013, as well as January 1 and 2, 2014, fall on a Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
