A good turnout of Teries took part in the Kelso-Yetholm ride-out on Saturday and although conditions were described as “a bit wet” they enjoyed the day.

This year’s Acting-Father Alan Gray, pictured above riding alongside Cammy Rudkin, took a fall from his horse after it stumbled in a hole. He suffered bruising to his ribs and sternum and has been recovering at home this week.

Cornet Ross Gibson, also pictured, told the Hawick News: “Alan had a fall but he’s on the mend now. He won’t be riding at Langholm this weekend.”

And talking of the Muckle Toon’s big weekend, Cornet Gibson said: “Langholm is really Hawick’s second Common-Riding and is usually a great day. Let’s hope we get weather like we’ve had this week.”
