Drug charge after court appearance

A HAWICK man was arrested charged with possession of heroin – just a day after appearing in court on similar charges.

Twenty six year old Lee Nichol of Trinity Street, pleaded guilty to having the class A drug during a search at Galashiels Police Station on Tuesday.

He had been arrested earlier that day by officers in Stirling Street, Galashiels.

Nichol appeared from custody at Selkirk Sheriff Court on Wednesday morning when Sheriff Kevin Drummond noted he had been in court on Monday when he admitted drugs offences and sentence had been deferred.

Sheriff Drummond referred all matters to March 11 when a Drug Treatment and Testing Order assessment will be considered.
