ELEVEN-YEAR-OLD Hawick youngster Brodie Graham is set for an unforgettable experience after having recently won a competition staged by the Air Training Cadets School in Kelso.

Brodie’s prize for setting the fastest lap time in a remote controller car competition is a flight in a Borders Gliding Club two-seater training sailplane.

Under the safe supervision of a qualified gliding instructor, Stirches Primary School pupil Brodie, after a thorough ground briefing and a description of the instruments, will be taken in a two-seater tandem sailplane.Launched using a powerful tow plane, the sailplan will reach an altitude of 2,000 feet.

Brodie will get the opportunity to see some spectacular views from the air, such as the Cheviot Hills to the coast at Holy Island and the Northumberland countryside.

The Borders Gliding Club is based at Milfield Airfield, near Wooler.
