Johnston’s shop break-in

Police in Hawick are investigating following a break-in to a business premises in the early hours of this morning (Thursday 5 February).

The break-in happened around 2.30am at Johnston’s of Elgin Mill Shop on Mansfield Road, and eleven men’s Barbour jackets worth approximately £2000 were stolen.

Officers are now investigating this break-in and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

PC Joanne Flynn said: “I’m appealing for anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious in the Mansfield Road area of Hawick around 2.30am to contact police. Similarly I would ask that anyone who believes they have been offered these stolen jackets for sale, to get in touch with us immediately.”
