Local MSP John Lamont has welcomed 38 pupils from Burnfoot Community School to the Scottish Parliament.
While at Holyrood they were shown around the building, before sitting in on First Minister’s Questions, and also getting the chance to meet the First Minister Alex Salmond.
Mr Lamont said: “Having visited Burnfoot school late last year to talk about my role as their MSP, it was great to invite them to the Scottish Parliament.
“I always think it is important that school pupils get a chance to see their local representatives at work, and it was a pleasure to be able to show them around the building.
“They were clearly a bright group and had a lot of questions to ask about what it was like to represent the Borders.
“I know that they enjoyed seeing First Minister’s Questions at first hand and that they got a chance to meet with the First Minister himself.
“It’s always a pleasure showing school groups around Holyrood and I look forward to welcoming back Burnfoot school for many years to come.”
