TEVIOTDALE Leisure Centre threw open its doors recently.

And locals were given the chance to get fighting fit in the process.

Their Super Saturday event showed exactly what was on offer at the Borders Sport & Leisure-run facility, including Zumba, Kettlercise, spinning and new body combat classes.

Lesley Patterson, Teviotdale’s duty manager, told the Hawick News: “This was our chance to show the public what we have to offer and it was brilliant for our instructors to see so many locals turn out and give the classes a try.

“The class line-up has been designed for all ages and abilities and we even have our own personal trainers on-site for those looking to develop an individual fitness programme to achieve specific goals.”

Taster classes were held with attendees encouraged to try as many of them as they wanted free of charge.

Tracy Blackie, a swim member at Teviotdale, added: “This was great opportunity to come and try all the classes.

“It was a fun filled day and the staff really worked hard to make sure we all enjoyed the event.”

The TLC offers a programme featuring over 20 fitness classes a week. Different classes address different fitness issues including cardiovascular capacity, strength, tone and flexibility.

There is also a timetable of classes for under-16s.

Full details of all classes on offer, including prices, can be downloaded from www.bslt.org.uk or obtained by calling the TLC on 374440.
