Green light for small schemes

THE rose bed running down the side of O’Connell Street is to be replaced with low maintenance shrubs at a cost of £1,430.

The money was allocated from Scottish Borders Council’s Small Schemes budget at a meeting of the Teviot and Liddesdale Area Forum on Tuesday night.

Also at the meeting it was agreed to upgrade the Market Cross at Wilton Lodge Park (£1,000), provide new play equipment at Miller’s Knowe (£900) and Anderson Park (£1,300), install a metal handrail outside 49 Silverbuthall Road (£350) and a drop kerb for disabled access at Wallace Court (£900).
