Four local good causes have been handed a cash boost thanks to the generosity of Hawick Summer Festival.

Cheques for £100 were presented to Bronwen Irving from the Borders Exploration Group; Kristie Waugh, high school head girl; and Sian Snowdon from the Escape Youth Cafe, all of whom are pictured receiving their donations from festival chairperson Gerry Monaghan.

A cheque for £100 was also sent to the Anthony Mundell Memorial Fund, representatives of which were unable to attend the meeting.

The next summer festival meeting is on Tuesday, January 14, in the Catholic church hall at 7pm. New members are most welcome
