With just four weeks to go things are gearing up for this year’s Reivers Festival which will run from March 23-25.

Committee members will be out this weekend in Morrisons and the following weekend in Sainsbury’s selling both programmes and tickets for the popular prize draw. As in previous years, the winner will get the chance to start off the spectacular firework display which is one of the main highlights.

The programme will give details of all the many attractions over the weekend. A spokesman for the committee said: “Richardson’s has done an excellent job in putting the programme together for us and we hope people will support us by buying one or a prize draw ticket this weekend. We try hard each year to keep many aspects of the festival free to the public but we need support to do this and these are important sources of funding.”

Bannerman Burke is selling concert tickets for the Scocha gig on Friday, March 23, and Session A9 on the 24th, and also tickets for the literary high tea with Alastair Moffat on the 25th. In addition, the tickets for the pre-festival fund-raiser, ‘A Cooking Experience with Carolyn Oliver’ (March 9) are available from the Tower Mill box office.
