Big-hearted schoolgirl Emily Stormont has had nine inches of her hair chopped off for a good cause.
The plucky ten-year-old decided recently that she’d like to have her long locks cut to help others, and as a result is going to be able to donate both her hair and money to the Little Princesses Trust, which makes wigs for children.
Emily’s granny, Eileen Stormont, told the Hawick News: “Emily just announced one day that she’d like to have her hair cut to donate to the charity, so we were really proud of her. It’s a lovely thing to do.”
Local Envy Hair stylist Kelly Robson cut Emily’s waist-length long hair to send to the trust, and the Trinity pupil is also going to collect more than £300 in sponsor money.
Mrs Stormont added: “Emily loves her new style.”
