A Borders gay group that began life in Hawick is preparing to mark its 30 anniversary with a special programme on TD1 community radio.
The lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender group (LGBT) was established in 1984, and now provides a voice for the LGBT community – and to mark its birthday an appeal has been made for anyone involved to share their stories.
TD1 manager David Henderson said: “The programme is a look at how attitudes have changed over the years, what it was like to be gay in the 80s, how the group started etc, as well as memories, good or bad.
“There were some racey newspaper headlines about the group back then, and we plan to use some as discussion points.”
