TWO men charged with assault have been given until today (Friday) to appear in court personally.
Andrew Dale, 24, and Yan Barnes, 27, both of High Street, failed to attend Jedburgh Sheriff Court last Friday and the Crown had called for warrants for their arrest.
But Sheriff Donald Corke agreed to continue the case for seven days.
They are both accused of assaulting Neil Crawford, in High Street, on March 10, by repeatedly punching him on the head to his injury while on bail.
Barnes faces further charges of breaching a bail order by entering Fraser Avenue and approaching a named woman as well as assaulting an acting police sergeant.
