Trial date set for dangerous driving accused

A man has denied driving a car dangerously in Selkirk.

Thirty-six-year-old Stuart Nimmo, of Hassendean Court, denies driving a car dangerously by driving into the opposing carriageway in Ettrick Terrace, Selkirk, on November 1 last year.

He also denies driving a car when unfit through drink or drugs on the A7 on various parts of the road in Selkirk
and Hawick.

Nimmo also denies possession of heroin in Hassendean Court on November 15 last year.

He further denies possession of cannabis on the same date.

The 36-year-old will stand trial at Jedburgh Sheriff Court on April 21.

n A 34-year-old man has admitted threatening or abusive behaviour.

Martin Charlotte, of no fixed abode, appeared from custody and admitted shouting and swearing in Borthaugh Road on August 27 last year.

Hearing Charlotte, who is currently serving a ten-month jail term, had spent 27 days in custody, Sheriff Kevin Drummond admonished the accused.
