Sentence deferred on benefits fraudster

A man who falsely obtained more than £15,800 in benefits, has had sentence deferred until October 24 for reports.

At Jedburgh Sheriff Court on Friday, Glen Miller, 54, of Allars Bank, admitted failing to give prompt notification of a change of circumstances to Scottish Borders Council and the Department for Work and Pensions, at Falside Cottages, Southdean, between July 2009 and December 2010, and receiving £15,161.78 Jobseekers Allowance and £712.77 Council Tax Benefit to which he was not entitled.
