Police are appealing for information following the theft of a horse trailer in the west end of the town.

The incident happened between 11pm on Sunday and 6pm on Monday, when thieves made off with an IFOR Williams double horse trailer from the car park at Thorterdykes Roadhouse. The trailer is valued at around £2,800.

A Police Scotland spokesman told the Hawick News this week: “We are keen to hear from anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity in or around the car park on either Sunday night or Monday morning.

“Local officers are now working alongside their Farm Watch partners to identify those responsible for this theft and ensure further members of the rural community are not affected.

Anyone who can help with enquiries into this incident should contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers (anonymously) on 0800 555 111.
