College gives townsfolk a voice at open day event

BORDERS College has this week announced plans to give townsfolk their say on what they would like to see on offer at the Hawick campus.

The Buccleuch Road facility is throwing open its doors for an open day and information session on Wednesday, May 11 (2pm-8pm), when among those in attendance will be staff from departments including business, computing, care, construction, rural industries, creative industries and sport.

Deirdre McKendry, BC’s head of community development, commented: “Borders College is keen to develop courses that will be supported by the community, and is particularly looking at developing more flexible learning opportunities. Therefore, it is important to find out what will best benefit potential students before embarking on future developments.”

Anyone who isn’t able to attend the campus open day but would still like to make their views known, can do so on 361030 or enquiries@borderscollege.ac.uk
