Cars damaged as Hislop Gardens saga rumbles on

RESIDENTS of Hislop Gardens are counting the days until Monday when work on their roads is finally due to commence.

The saga of the development’s unfinished roads and pavements – lasting for several years – had been delayed further amid claims of a disagreement between Galabrae Homes and contractor Rodgers.

However, assurances were given that the work would be completed last month.

But residents have now received letters stating the work will not start until August 8, due to contractors and holidays.

One frustrated householder told the Hawick News that the lack of action was having a detrimental effect on vehicles parked on the street. They said: “Another postponement, and there has been two cars damaged due to the state it has been left in for so long.”
