Call for support to get High Street disabled parking spaces

I read with interest last week that the farmers’ market was to change its day from a Friday to a Saturday.

Having been at it on a number of recent wet Fridays I could see the logic in this and being the ‘positive person’ I am I thought it was good news, as hopefully it will mean that it will revitalise the Saturday market as well and bring more people to the town at a time when we are losing more and more shops on the High Street.

Then it struck me that the disabled parking in the Common Haugh is not available during the market and the Civil Space disabled parking won’t be either.

These are yet more reasons why we need High Street disabled spaces.

So will all six Hawick councillors join with me in calling for this?
