A RECENT litter pick at Burnfoot was so successful that plans are in place for more similar events.

As part of a Keep Scotland Tidy Campaign the venture was attended by staff and pupils from Burnfoot Community School, members of Burnfoot Community Futures Development Group, Burnfoot Senior Youth Group and Burnfoot Church.

And held just ahead of the community’s Easter Sunday family day, the impressive turnout ensured ‘Sleepy Valley’ underwent a successful spring clean.

Praising the community’s support, development worker Coreen Knight told the Hawick News: “Due to the success of the venture and the enthusiasm of the volunteers, plans are being put in place to repeat this event in other areas of Burnfoot on a regular basis.

“Thank you to all who took the time to become involved in this very successful event.”
