Burnfoot council needs new blood

Do you have what it takes to be a Burnfoot Community Councillor?

If so, Councillor Stuart Marshall wants to talk to you!

Nominations are open and local residents have until 4pm on Thursday, September 17, to put their name forward.

Speaking this week, Councillor Marshall, who started his political life off at Hawick Community Council and who will be acting as Returning Officer, said: “Community Councils play an important part in our towns and villages. I would encourage anyone interested in working with their community to put their name forward for the community council. If anyone would like an informal chat about community council life, or would like a nomination form, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.”

Nomination forms are available from Burnfoot Post Office or by downloading the form from the Scottish Borders Council website at http://www.scotborders.gov.uk/ccelections

Completed forms should be returned to Burnfoot CC Election, FREEPOST RRBU-KBCB-JBJG, Strategic Policy Unit, Scottish Borders Council, Council Headquarters, Newtown St Boswells, Melrose, TD6 0SA or the ballot box at Burnfoot Post Office.
