Brydon ‘calls it a day’

Ex-Cornet Rob Brydon has stepped down from Hawick Community Council after 10 years on the group.

Mr Brydon, joined the Community Council on his return from London in 2005 and this week he told the Hawick News: “The problem is that being off for as long with my foot, things have moved on. It’s all high-tech now and I must be the only one who gets the minutes by regular post. So, all things considered, I have decided to step down. I have enjoyed the time I have spent on the council and wish everyone well. I will miss it but I think it is time to call it a day.”

Council chairperson Marion Short said: “I will personally miss Rob hugely. He looked after me and acted like my minder for many years. He also did a lot of good work while on this council and I would like to wish him well for the future.”

n The community council meets on Monday at 6.30pm in room 205, Heart of Hawick.
