Appeal after windows are smashed

POLICE have urged townsfolk to look out for their neighbours and report anything suspicious to the police following the latest spate of vandalism.

The advice is accompanied by another appeal for assistance from the public, after several windows in a block of empty flats in Stonefield Place were smashed – and an attempted break-in at another property at the same location.

A police spokesman said: “Although these properties are currently unoccupied, the damage will need to be repaired at considerable costs.

“We would urge the community to look out for one another and their neighbours, and if they see anything out of the ordinary, whether it’s a strange vehicle or maybe someone they don’t recognise or something just doesn’t seem right, we would ask them to phone the police.”

Anyone with information can contact the station on 375051 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
