FUND-RAISING golfer Albert Thompson is back in the swing of things for charity following a successful outing over the Monklands course.

The Margaret Kerr Palliative Care Unit was the real winner on the day, though, with its coffers being boosted by £475.

Albert, who has raised £4,379 in total for the unit through the staging of several golf outings over the years, told the Hawick News: “I’d like to express my thanks to Monklands course owner Paul Rooney for his generosity in once again allowing his facilities to be used free of charge for the charity, and to all the golfers for their time, money and participation.”

Our picture shows Albert, who is a member of Minto Golf Club, presenting the cheque to Margaret Kerr Unit specialist nurses Caroline Wood and Hilary Douglas.
