Police found a woman with her face covered in blood after being headbutted by a drunken man.
Stuart McHutchison had been socialising with the woman but returned home when they started arguing.

The woman went to his flat in the early hours of the morning, where he pushed her on to a sofa, pinned her down, and headbutted her.

At Jedburgh Sheriff Court last Thursday, McHutchison, 37, of High Street, admitted assaulting a woman to her injury at his home on January 10.

Sheriff Kevin Drummond deferred sentence for nine months, until October 21.
