Scottish Water to pull plug on reservoir

Acreknowe Reservoir is to become redundant, a Scottish Water official has confirmed.
It was heard during a meeting of Teviot and Liddesdale Area Committee that the water authority plans to decomission the reservoir, as part of a £14.7million investment to meet future demand.

The ageing works, along with Dodburn, are to close as part of a scheme to provide clearer, fresher drinking water from an improved and refurbished Roberton waterworks.
