Road crash cyclist dies in hospital

A CYCLIST has died after being involved in a collision with a Volkswagen Passat car on the A698 Hawick to Denholm road on Sunday night.
The accident, which happened at around 6.30 at Ashybank, saw paramedics, police and members of the public battling to save the man's life.
The victim - Murray Fleming, a 25-year-old IT worker from Greenlaw - sustained a serious leg injury and died in Borders General Hospital.
Police are appealing for information from anyone who was on the road at the time and can remember seeing two cyclists heading towards Denholm, and in particular the driver of a vehicle which was travelling towards Hawick.
