A driver whose wheels were tampered with in a "mindless crime" was lucky to escape serious injury, police say.
The wheel nuts of his red Peugeot were loosened between 7pm on Wednesday, July 16 and 5pm the following day while it was parked in Borthwick Road and police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 375051.

Sergeant Helen Birrell said: "The potential consequences of such an act are very serious. It was a mindless crime but thankfully the driver wasn't injured.

"It's difficult to say if the man was specifically targeted at this stage but we are carrying out extensive enquiries."
