Late-night bother could be solved by taxi rank

PLANS for a taxi rank at the Somerfield car park are being discussed as a possible solution to late-night weekend disturbances.
The problem of noisy revellers disturbing residents in the town centre was on the agenda at a meeting of Teviot and Liddesdale Area Committee, at which it was heard that complaints have been made by people living on the High Street and Bridge Street.

Inspector John Scott stated: "There has been talk of creating a rank at the Somerfield car park, but there are problems with lighting which would need to be resolved."
