STAFF and pupils at the high school are growing heroic handlebars and meritorious moustaches in aid of prostate cancer research.
Around 20 teachers and 30 pupils, pictured, have put their shaving brushes away to take part in 'Movember', which is aimed at making men's health fun by putting the Mo back on the face of men and in the process raising some serious funds for key male issues.

Behaviour support and history teacher Scott Fobister explained: "We thought it would be a good thing to do to help raise awareness of prostate and testicular cancer, particularly among senior pupils and that if they're caught in time, and they can get over the male reticence there is about going to the doctors, then they are among the most curable cancers."

Donations can be made at the high school office, Bannerman and Burke and Denholm Meat Supplies, while the Border Club is also assisting by gathering sponsorship.
