NEXT month's biennial sheep event at Teviothead is expected to attract thousands of farmers from all over the UK and Ireland.
Scotsheep, which is being organised the National Sheep Association, is being hosted by Northhouse farmers Ian and Katherine Hepburn, and their sons John, Adam and Gregor, and will get under way on Wednesday, June 4, from 9am.

The agricultural extr
avaganza will include 150 trade stands, 40 sheep breeds, a farmers' market, farm tour, stockjudging competitions, sheep dog trials, demonstration of electronic identification, sheep shearing and the Young Shepherd of the Year competition.

Organising committee chairman Jack Clark told the Hawick News this week: "NSA Scotsheep is well established as the leading event for the sheep industry in Scotland and a "must attend" event for sheep farmers keen to keep up-to-date with all the latest technical and marketing trends in the industry.

"The sheep industry has gone through difficult times over the past year, but the prospects for the future are looking brighter, and NSA Scotsheep will point the way ahead."

The event will also include a comprehensive seminar programme focusing on sheep health, the CAP health check, lamb pricing and easy-care sheep.
